Bookshop

The University Council has set up a high-powered committee to make space available in the university grounds for a bookshop. The committee will then enter negotiations with booksellers to determine who will have the right to operate the new campus bookshop. It is believed that the contract will probably go to Whitcombe & Tombs or one of their subsidiary companies.

The bookshop should be open for business by the end of 1965, and will therefore be ready for the main book-buying spree at the start of the 1966 academic year.

Another committee is to be set up by the Students' Association to ascertain what students want in the bookshop.
