Been Rooked Lately?

Been Rooked Lately?

The year has begun very satisfactorily for the Chess Club. Attendance on the opening night totalled 27; and has remained constant at about the one score mark. The acquisition of players as good as John Howe and Roger Chap-; man should enable the Club to enter an A Grade team in the Wellington Inter-Club Championships, and send a strong team to Winter Tournament.

Chess Tournaments

A "lightning tournament," ably organised by the President, Ross Barnett, proved very successful on the opening night. Three ladder tournaments and a perpetual ladder system are now underway. They should provide plenty of competition and interest,

The Club meets on Monday nights in A.4 at 7 p.m. (and sometimes earlier). Anyone interested in Chess is always very welcome. Page 4
