Freshers' progress: From riotous schooling to...

The summer sports clubs are at present trying to contact Freshers and others who may be interested in Tournament. Easter Tournament this year is in Wellington, and so provides a chance for all Vic students to take part or partake.

During the summer and continuing until Easter, the Athletic Club will conduct floodlight meetings at Boyd-Wilson Field (also known as Hunter Field and Te Aro Park). These meetings are held each Thursday, starting at 7p.m., and they cater for the social and the provincial champions. In fact all are welcome who wish to run for reasons known or unknown (except money). Hot showers and cocoa follow.

The inter-faculty sports will be held at Hataitai Park on March 26, and the club will travel to Palmerston North to meet Massey and Palmerston North College on April 26.

For information contact Malcolm Brooker, 45-805 (W), or 27-196 (H).

The Swimming Club hold a club night every Tuesday, 7-8 p.m. at Thorndon Baths, Murphy Street. Adjournment to a coffee shop for reminiscences, etc., etc., follows. Like the Athletic Club, everyone from learners to national champions are welcome.

The club has two water polo teams in the local competitions, one in the social grade and the other in the first division.

The inter-faculty swimming sports will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 7.30 p.m. at Thorndon. A water polo trial will be held on Tuesday, March 15, during the second half of the club night.

Information—Julia Mason, 36-411 (H), or Conor McBride, 43-857 (W) and 55-125 (H).

Watch the club notice boards for further details.
