There was some doubt whether anyone would rise to the bait—but they did. The successful applicants are Mr and Mrs Hargraves, who impressed the executive with their willingness to co-operate and high standard of cleanliness.
In Memoriam
It was with the deepest regret and sympathy that we learned of the death of Mr Pat C. Armstrong, a student of Victoria. Pat was killed on the evening of Monday. February 15, when a southbound multiple unit train struck him as he cycled across the Silverstream railway crossing. Pat, a B.Com. student, will be greatly missed by all his friends, particularly those in the Golf Club. Pat represented Victoria at Tournament Golf from 1957 until his untimely death. He worked hard for the University Golf Club—out on the links and in the committee room. In 1989 he was Heretaunga Golf Club champion. The members of the Victoria Golf Club have asked " Salient" to extend their since rest sympathy to Put Armstrong's parents.
