Dennis Brown

Dennis is a fifth-year Law student who has qualified as a solicitor and this year hopes to complete his LL.B.

His background of student affairs and activities comes from four years on the committee of the Law Faculty Club (with two years as secretary), membership of the Rowing Club committee for one year, being in the cast of Extrav for four seasons (Claude '54, Sid '55 and '56), Controller of "the successful Capping Ball held earlier this year and emergency for the VUC rowing team at Easter Tournament 1954.

Dennis accepted nomination for the position of men's vice-president because he has time to devote to Executive duties and because he wishes to make some contribution to the College and to the Association in return for what he has received from them.

No particular election promises are made except that of willing service.

Ted Woodfield

Ted is a third-year full-time Arts student with History as his major subject. In his three years at VUC Ted ha? built up a great record of participation and achievement in student activities. He has been on Salient staff '54, '55 and '56. first as Chief Reporter, then as Sports Editor and now as a member of the Editorial Committee. Similarly he has been in Extrav in each of his three years here successively as member of the male ballet and the chorus and this year as a principal and Assistant Producer.

He attended Congress in 1955 and '56 and is on the organizing committee for 1957. At Easter Ted had a major share in organizing Easter Tournament at VUC as Corresponding Delegate and also as secretary to the NZU Tournament Committee. All sports will be aware of his worth here. He is also president of the Literary Society and was one of the foundation members of this revived society.

He has an excellent knowledge of Association affairs, which has been widened even more by his work in the first half of this year as Assistant Office Secretary to the Association. All in all, Ted has all the qualifications and experience to make a first-class Vice-President.
