Famous composer again patron of Music Society
At the AGM of the VUC Music Society on March 22, the noted English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, O.M., we re-elected patron of the society, and Mr. Peter Crowe was elected president. Mr. P. Page, head of the Music Department, retired after several terms as president of the society.
Mr. Vaughan Williams has taken a considerable interest in the society in the past, sending them scores and recordings of his works.
Amendments to the society's Constitution passed at the meeting provided for combination of the offices of president and chairman, and increase in the committee's strength from five to seven.
Miss Janette McCracken was elected secretary-treasurer.
