During the course of the annual report delivered to the Philosophical Society on Wednesday. March 23, the Secretary Mr. H. Roberts drew the Society's attention to "the disproportionate financial grants given to sporting and non-sporting affiliated clubs and societies." It was pointed out that in the year ending February 28, 1953, of the £1200 granted directly to Clubs by the Student" Association, about £1000 was given to sporting bodies and about £200 to the non-sporting bodies. It was agreed that the committee should go into the matter, to examine what should be done, if anything, about this disproportion.
