Rainy Night
Rainy Night
The rustling sheet is slowly drawn
covering the night's empty shell—
Rain beating down
on my mind
with the dull strokes
of time [unclear: undefined].
Thudding becoming a deeper drum
until it is no longer outside . . .
and life is sleep.
A sudden sharp gap
and the formless hum
becomes a clirring beat
that makes dark
and open eyes meet
in a hard fusion—
Swimming into a merging again
which has no dimension
but the point of the sun
shining back into a clear sky
through a wavering pane.
