Hist. Soc. Meets

Hist. Soc. Meets

At 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, a study group of the Historical Society gathers around the stove in Hut 7, to spend the evening discussing some aspect of the disintegration of the British Empire. Already the question of national and racial feeling has been dealt with, and at the subsequent meetings we will analyse the effect on the Empire of economic relations; constitutional relations since 1931; the theory and practice of the labour attitude, and the influence of the U.S.A.

Short introductory talks will first be given by two speakers who will outline the main points involved and suggest lines for discussion.

This is not a "get-together" for history students, but is open to all people interested in these problems of twentieth century significance and importance.
