Alec is a graduate in Science and is hoping to complete B.A. this year. Men's Vice-president of the retiring Exec.; Chairman Blues Committee, 1947; VUC delegate to Australian Student Congress, 1947; NZUSA delegate, 1947; Extrav cast for several years; Props. Manager, '44 and '45; "Salient" Staff since 1942, now Editor; Ex TC. now teaching; has been Chief Guide and Chairman of the Tramping Club; Committee member of the Socialist Club, which he represented at the Australian Student Labour Conference this year.
He would like to see a campaign for Departmental Committees supported by departmental clubs, full implementation of the Exec's Health Scheme, an NZUSA Congress this summer, immediate appointment of the New Building Architect so that a public appeal for funds can be begun, student representation on the Senate, an orientation course for freshers during the first week each year, more Exec, assistance with WSR appeals, government assistance for setting up student controlled hostels for men and women, appointment of a non-voting paid accountant to the Association.
