Salient. An Organ of Student Opinion at Victoria College Wellington, N.Z. Vol. 8, No. 3 March 28, 1945
The annual general meeting of this Club, held on March 14, was attended by an encouraging number of potential players, and the committee has every hope of this season being a most successful one. Any players who wish to turn out for Varsity and who were not at the meeting, are urged either to see one of the committee or to fill in a team slip, "of which there is a supply in the caretaker's office.
The following officers were elected:
Patron: Sir Thomas Hunter. President: Prof. B. E. Murphy. Club Captain: Mr. H. E. Moore. [unclear: repur] Club Captain: Jack Bennett. Hon. Treasurer: Vic MacLennan. Hon. Secretary: Joe Trapp. Committee: Ewen Drummond, Laurie Begg, Tanu Jowett, Keith Watson.
At present it is not known how many teams will be entered in the WRFU competitions but there will probably be at least four. The number of teams to be entered will depend on the number of players available, and for that reason everyone in the least interested in football is urged to turn out to the first Club practice. (Watch the notice hoard for details.)
The Club hopes that the following games will be played this year:
v. Auckland University Coll., 1st XV. v. Canterbury University Coll., ,, v. Massey Agricultural Coll., ,, Colts XV v. Te Aute College at Wai-pukurau.
