Disappointing Cricket

Disappointing Cricket

Not one of the five teams has cause to regard its record this season with real satisfaction. Seniors and seconds, strong on paper, have performed erratically. Low positions in their grades are the result. Only the selection of Joe Ongley and Arthur Harpur in Wellington Plunket Shield has, in some measure, saved the reputation of the club.

Ted Blacker's social team has probably the best record to date. It has won 4 of its 7 matches and drawn 1. It's batting is particularly strong. F. Bett's 276 in a recent match cannot be far short of the V.U.C. record.
