From the Pavilion on the Mountain
From the Pavilion on the Mountain
The river lives so far below we that it does not seem to flow;
This place half-way up the mountain side, is a lovely pavilion.
A breeze moves the green things on the above me, and a bit of cloud floats by.
Budding maples on the slopes seem like red reflections of the setting sun.
I see the courtyards of a temple where the spring it well content to rest.
I observe water-birds far below taking their case swimming. Over my head thick rivers hold the
light of the sky away;
They are conspiring with darkness to bring night too soon.
