Will You Awake in Time?

Will You Awake in Time?

The international situate is obviously serious: the next slump is already on its way—the Business Index Activity figures, the production of steel, and the unemployment In U.S.A. are all considerably worse than during the 1920 crash; and it is of course advisable to do some sane thinking before next November. What will be your choice then? "Adam Baba" quite correctly identified the Nationalists with Fascism. Students of political science are agreed that Fascism is merely an advanced stage of capitalism, monopoly capitalism, protecting itself under extreme difficulty. The world's politics, national and international, are fast splitting into a struggle between Socialism and Fascism. The author of "Olympian Nights" was correct in his view that Fascism and Socialism cannot exist In harmony. The Britsh Empire is, of course, exclusively capitalistic; and Britain is fast becoming controlled by monopoly capitalism: with the critical international situation, the strained economic system and a dissatisfied labour class, there is every chance that Britain's real rulers will adopt some form of Fascism in the near future. This country must be directly affected by such a change and so the choice really before the electors in November is a choice between Socialism and Fascism. It will be well to be sure of being on the correct side of the line after the next elections. It is too late to light Fascism when It is in stalled in power: remember Germany.

Bringing out these facts, "Adam Baba" was indeed a noteworthy Extravaganza. No doubt very few of the audience were able to appreciate to the full its lesson but the fact remains, it contained a real lesson In political science.
