Cricket.

The A.I.F. Headquarters Club played its opening match of the season against a Citadel Fusiliers Eleven. S. Sgt. VC.C. Harry was elected Captain, . nd Sgt. A. Milne, Vice-Captain of the Australian Team. Skipper Harry won the toss, and decided to bat on a fair wicket, the side making the respectable total of 202. The Fusiliers responded with a total of 91, leaving the"Aussies" winners by-a margin of in runs. For the winners, special mention is due to the batting of Harrv (28), Capt C T. Jarman (34), Hornsey (33), and Rowbotham (33). Bnvlng: Doig. 2 wkts for 7; Lucas. 5 for 53; and Agnew, 2 for 22. The Fasilier's. batsmen, with the exceptiop of Walker (17) and Wilmore (20), failed to reach double figures. Their bowleis were: Jones, 4 for 60; James, 3 for 67; Wilinore, Walker and Bo wring, I wkt, each for 18, 22 and 25 respectively.

On April 27th., A.I.F. Headquarters Club played the Gh'zerieh Sporting Club on the latter's ground. G.S.C. won by 44 runs. Scoresr Ghezerieh. 9 wkts for 126 (innings declared closed). Chief scorers: Dillon (24), Cecil (20), Wyatt (20). Bowling:Farquhar,5 for 38; James, 4 for 29; Dillon, 2 for 16; Hall, 1 for 15;. Wyatt, 1 for 12; Cecil, I for 16. A.I.F. Headquarters, 82, and 4 wkts for 63. Batting: Capt. C.T. Jarman, 21; Rowbotham. 14 and 21 not opt Bowling: Craig, 3 for 25; Lucas, 2 for 37; Doig, 2 for 25; and Rowbotham, 2 for 16.

A match between the Second Eleven of the A.I.F. Headquarters Club, and the Australian Provost Corps was placed at the Y.M.C.A. ground on May 2nd. resuming in an easy victory for Headquartets. Headquarters batted first, 9 wkts for 251, (innings declared closed). Chief scorers: (62 not out), Gardner (41). Fisher (28), Miller (25 not out), Schuchard (25), Collins (22), and Johnson (21). Bow ling: Collins, 3 for 12; Baker, 3 for 25; Gardner, 2 for 18; Miller, 1 for 26. Australian Provost Corps, 82. Chief scorers.: Kill worth (23), Taylor (19), and Campbell (13). Bowling: Smith, 3 for 32 Fraser. 1 for 21: Grigson, I for 47; Taylor, 1 for 8l.

Moascar cricket competition was continued on May 4th. Following are the results: Head-quarters v. Reinforcements Camp, The latter batted first and made 51 runs, Kenny being top scorer, with 28. Bowing: Bowerman, 5 for 13; Clarke, I for 8; Hogan. 2 for 5; Jeffers, 2 for 15. Headquarters knocked up 94 for 4 wickets. Jeffers (28) and Clarke (15 not out) were the chief scorers. The mach, 1st. A.L.H.T.R. v. 3rd. A.L.H.T.R., resulted in an easy win for the latter. The "Firsts" scored 27. Bowl in: Logue, 4 for 18; Jacka, 5 for 9. The winners, scored 112 with the loss of 5 wickets, chief run Betters being Logue. (21), Robertson (29). Carbarns (26), and Moore (24 not out), Cleaver, 4 for 27; bowled best for the losers.
