The portraits of Banks, Solander, and Forster (pages 20 and 33) are from Dr Cockayne's collection in the Dominion Museum; the illustration of kowhai on page 22 is taken from the Dominion Museum set of the engravings prepared from the drawings made by Bank's draughtsmen (see page 30); those on pages 29 and 31 were specially photographed for this bulletin. The portraits of d'Urville and Hooker (pages 39 and 43) were obtained, from the Turnbull Library.
