Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1907.

[No. 605 (1906).—Petition of Hairama Haweti and 47 Others, of the Bay of Plenty.]

No. 605 (1906).—Petition of Hairama Haweti and 47 Others, of the Bay of Plenty.

Petitioners pray for rehearing of the Tunapahore Block.

I am directed to report that the Committee is of the opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for further inquiry, and, as it appears that the parties in dispute are willing to accept a settlement of the matter by the Native Minister and Mr. Ngata, M.H.R., acting for all, the Committee suggests that that course be adopted.
