No. 207, 1897.—Petition of Wi Patene Torohanga and 45 Others.

Petitioners pray for rehearing in Kuhawaea Block No. 1.

I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for inquiry as to whether the petitioners have any grounds for claiming compensation on account of their application for rehearing having been illegally dismissed.

E inoi ana nga kai-pitihana kia whakawakia tuaruatia a Kuhawaea Nama 1 Poraka.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, ki te whakaaro o te Komiti me tuku atu tenei pitihana ki te Kawanatanga kia uiuia mehemea ranei e tika ana nga take i tono ai nga kai-pitihana kia utua ratou mo te whakakorenga hetanga o ta ratou tono whakawa tuarua.
