Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1896.

[No. 504, 1895.—Petition of P. Barker.]

No. 504, 1895.—Petition of P. Barker.

Petitioner, who has interests in Poututu, Makauri, Taruheru, and Tahoka Blocks, which are directly adverse to the interest of one William Henry Tucker, of Gisborne, who is petitioning Parliament for legislation in connection with the same, prays that the House will not permit the passing of any measure or of any clause in the Native Land Bill which may prejudicially affect his said interests.

I am directed to report that, as the subject-matter of this petition was dealt with last session the Committee has no recommendation to make.

16th July, 1896.
