No. 229, 1895.—Petition of Rewita Niwa and 48 Others.
Petitioners complain that too much land was taken by the Government to cover the expense of surveying the Oamaru Block (Opotiki District). They pray for compensation or other relief.
I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration.

E ki ana nga kai-pitihana he nui rawa te whenua i tangohia e te Kawanatanga hei whakaea i te ruritanga o Oamaru Poraka (Takiwa o Opotiki). E inoi ana ratou kia whakaorangia tenei mate.
Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei ki te whakaaro a te Komiti me tuku atu tenei pitihana ki te Kawanatanga kia whiriwhiria paitia.
