No. 32.—Petition of Tuta Nuku Tame and Others.

Petitioners state that they are the rightful owners of the Purangi Block, near Waitara, and that they understand the Government is about to take the same for a township. They pray that this may be prevented, as they wish to retain it for their own use.

I am directed to report that, as there seems to be some misunderstanding with regard to the land in question, the Committee recommend that the petition be referred to the Government for inquiry.
