Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1896.

[No. 211.—Petition of Henare Tomoana.]

No. 211.—Petition of Henare Tomoana.

Petitioner alleges that certain persons are being wrongfully admitted as successors to interests in the Karamu Reserve, Hawke's Bay, and prays that steps may be taken to prevent the same.

I am directed to report that the Committee find that this question has been dealt with by the Appellate Court, and as they cannot review the action of that Court, no recommendation can be made with regard to this petition.

[Translation. ]
No. 211.—Pitihana a Henare Tomoana.

E ki ana te kai-pitiana kei te whakaurua hetia etahi tangata hei kai-riiwhi mo etahi hea i roto i te whenua Rahui i Karamu, Haaki Pei, a e inoi ana kia whakahaerea etahi tikanga hei arai i taua mahi.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, kua kitea e te Komiti kua whakataua tenei putake e te Kooti Whakawa Tuarua, a i te mea kaore e ahei tenei Komiti ki te uiui i nga mahi a taua Kooti, heoi kaore kau ana kupu mo runga i tenei pitihana.
