In transmitting to you the accompanying extract of a letter from Mr. Moore, I am directed the Governor to request that you will call upon the Chief Constable to account for his not having executed the Warrant put into his hands for the apprehending the parties concerned in the affair of the brig Elizabeth at New Zealand, and that you will express to him His Excellency's desire that he will immediately use all possible diligence to apprehend those parties, or to learn how, and by whose means, they, and the witnesses, have been sent out of the Colony, if such is the case.
