Sir,—
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 26th November instant, No. 633-1, informing me that a sum of £400 has been paid into the Bank of New Zealand to the "Princes Street Reserve Account," and that if I will continue to watch the case in the interest of the Natives you will give instructions that the account may be drawn upon only by cheque bearing my signature, and to inform you in reply that I am willing to undertake this duty.
