No. 26. — The Hon. the Colonial Treasurer to the Collector of Customs, Dunedin

No. 26.
The Hon. the Colonial Treasurer to the Collector of Customs, Dunedin.

Customs, Dunedin, 17th July, 1863.

Sir,—

I have this day arranged with the Town Board to pay the expense of the formation of a flag footpath in front of the reserve on which the Custom House is built, and half of the expense of constructing the woodway from Princes Street to its junction with Rattray Street, when you are satisfied that the works have been properly performed, and that the charge is reasonable.

I have therefore now to authorize you to pay these expenses accordingly. The understanding with the Town Board was that the level of the street was to be reduced so as to show the three steps of the portico, in accordance with the original design of the building.

I have, &c.,

C. Logie, Esq., Collector of Customs and Sub-Treasurer.
Realder Wood.
