This song begins mid-book after six blank pages that follows the list of 64 names identified as the ariki of Teauotonga, which in turn follows after the 34 pages of script that begins "I te mataiti 1896, I te marama ia Ianuary 13, kia Adoni ma teia manga tuatua mamae naku te tatau tuatua ua ra au..." that I believe are sermons drafted in Cook Islands Māori by Hutchin probably before and after this date. The d and t are interchangeable, just like p and b.

Book 12 suggests that Hutchin was becoming increasingly committed to gathering oral history and ephemera even as his health, and that of his wife and children, became influenced by the tropical environment.
