[Christchurch Press annual picnic]
The employees of the Christchurch Press were to have journeyed to New Brighton for their annual picnic on the 21st instant, but the inclemency of the weather prevented this pleasurable outing taking place, and therefore a social gathering in the Tuam-street Hall was substituted. Although much disappointment was naturally felt that the original arrangement could not be carried out, still a very pleasant afternoon and evening were spent. One feature of the evening was the legerdemain of Mr J. Bradford, which was of an entertaining character.
