Typo: A Monthly Newspaper and Literary Review, Volume 2

[Additional particulars]

A contributor to the Otago Daily Times has given some additional particulars. He states that Mr Revans was the son of a surgeon practising in the south of London.—In Canada he became involved in what was known as Papineau's rebellion, and fled from the country, a price having been set on his head.—No. 1 of the New Zealand Gazette was issued in London on 6th September, 1839: No. 2 at Port Nicholson, 18th April, 1840. In August of the same year the words and Britannia Spectator were added to the title, and in November the name of Wellington was substituted for Britannia—the site of the town having been fixed and named in the interval, and « Britannia, » the proposed site at Petone, having been abandoned.
