Railway Station Gardens

Railway Station Gardens.

Writing to the stationmaster at Hawera (Mr. R. S. Allwright), Mrs. C. J. Sutherland, Wellington, expresses appreciation of the Hawera station garden in the following terms: “I passed through Hawera by train a few days ago, and your station garden impressed me so much that I am wrtting this note of appreciation. The bed of pansies and violas was wonderful and showed that even last summer's heat had not killed them all, as in so many places. The hasty glance one had of other flowers made one realise that a real lover of God's beauties must be trying to make one corner of His vineyard a place of joy and happiness. “I am an old lady, very fond of flowers, and I send these words of appreciation.”
