Experiment 13
Sweet Gegenschein
Sweet Gegenschein
The moon where it fell
lay bleeding in the mountains
That beast lay waiting
at the perihelion
its metal hands baited with cheese
The planetary clockwork broke
down — we are eclipsed
The chain that tethers the moon is
loose and flailing in the sky
I found she who I thought had died
but sprang happily to meet me in
that motel cum old folks' home
where I was buying grapefruit
juice that morning
The blue eyed beast is up the tree
and the bird is on its cage.
