McCorkindale, Allan, Watchmaker and Jeweller, Station Street, Hastings. This business was established in the year 1889, by the present proprietor. The premises consist of a shop, with a plate-glass front, and a work-room behind, and a large and well-assorted stock of watches, jewellery, silver plate, and optical goods, is displayed. Mr. McCorkindale has also a branch business at Feilding, which is managed by his eldest son. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and came page 472 to New Zealand in the year 1860. For seventeen years he conducted a business in Oamaru, which he subsequently sold in order to settle in Hastings. As a Freemason Mr. McCorkindale is a past master of Lodge Heretaunga, No. 73. N.Z.C.
