Mr. Harry Stocker, Secretary of the Equitable Building Society, was born in Christchurch, in 1871. He is the eldest son of Archdeacon Stocker, of Invercargill, and was educated in that town, and also elsewhere in New Zealand. Mr. Stocker was on the staff of the Bank of Australasia in New Plymouth, and also served in Invercargill, Gore, and Ashburton. He retired from the position of accountant in the bank to join the firm of Webster and McKellar, in 1902. In 1901. Mr. Stocker married a daugnter of the late Mr. F. L. Webster, of New Plymouth.
