Hammond, Henry, Farmer, New Renwick Road, Blenheim. Mr. Hammond is a son of Mr. David Hammond. one of the early pioneers. He was born in the Old Country, and came to New Zealand with his parents, in 1842, by the ship “Lord Auckland.” His education was due to the beneficence of Mr. Matthew Campbell, philanthropist. Mr. Hammond removed to Marlborough in 1870, and Eatington Farm, of 226 acres, is his property. He has been an active contributor to the wonderful improvements which have been made during the past twenty-five years; has served as a member of the Wairau Road Board, and of the agricultural and pastoral society; and has been chairman of the Fairhall school committee.
