Mr. George Nicholas Pickett

Mr. George Nicholas Pickett , who has been accountant of the Bank of New Zealand at Riverton, since 1894, was born in 1862, in Wellington, and educated at the Bishop's school, Nelson. He joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand in 1884, at Motueka, and after having served successively at Takaka, Motueka and Invercargill, was appointed accountant of the Riverton

page 938 branch. As a Forester, he was initiated in Court Perseverance, Motueka. When connected with the Nelson Cadets, he three times won the company's medal for shooting. Mr Pickett has been a lay reader of the Church of England at Riverton since 1894. He was married, in 1901, to a daughter of Mr H. R. Clayton, of the Railway Department, Wellington, and has one son.
