Robinson's Bay is situated on the Akaroa harbour, in the country of Akaroa, between Akaroa and Duvauchelle's. It is connected with Little River, about fourteen miles distant, and also with Pigeon Bay, by means of a tri-weekly coach. The district is hilly, with beautiful scenery, and is devoted to dairy farming. It has a local post office and telephone service, and there is a telegraph office at Duvauchelle's, about two miles distant. Robinson's Bay has daily mail communication with Christchurch, and the distance between it and the capital is about fifty miles.
