The Cyclopedia of New Zealand [Canterbury Provincial District]

The Rev. William Lee

The Rev. William Lee, the Superintendent of the Christchurch South Circuit, was born in Yorkshire, England, and came to the colony in 1865. He has occupied circuits in each of the six districts, and has always been Superintendent, except in the first, Mr. Lee was for sixteen years chairman of the districts in which he resided. He has twice been elected Secretary of Conference, was President in 1880, and through the death of the Rev. J. B. Richardson, he also fulfilled the duties of that office during the following year. In 1896 he had a holiday, during which, he visited England and the Holy Land, and was representative of New Zealand at the British Conference at Liverpool.
