Colony per ship “Hereford,” landing in Canterbury. He was for several years employed in various callings, and after gaining a good knowledge of colonial life he purchased a farm of 150 acres at Paparoa, but selling the land in 1896, he decided to settle in Whangarei on his present property. Mr. Goodall has a fine orchard and vinery, shipping most of his fruit, consisting of grapes, apples, pears, peaches, plums, oranges, and lemons, to the southern markets. He was connected with the Paparoa School Committee and Road Board for several years, and is a member of the Church of England. Mr. Goodall is married and has three sons and three daughters.
