Lusk, Newall Butler

Lusk, Newall Butler, Mining Agent, Shorthand Street, Auckland. Bankers, National Bank of New Zealand. The subject of this notice is a son of Major Lusk, was born at Auckland in 1874, and was educated at the Auckland College and Grammar School. On leaving school he entered the service of the Colonial Bank, but two years later resigned and engaged in surveying with his father and others for four years. In 1895 he started business as a mining agent, and in the following year was appointed, in conjunction with Mr. E. W. G. Rathbone, New Zealand agent for the South African Argosy Association, Ltd. As a cricketer and footballer. Mr. Lusk is not unknown to fame. He has been a member of the Taranaki representative football team, and is now (1901) associated with the Grafton Football Club, Auckland. He was also a member of the United Cricket Club's team which won the senior cup in 1896–7, and represented Auckland provincial cricket in the seasons of 1899–1900, and 1900–1901.
