Mr. A. L. Foster
Mr. A. L. Foster arrived in New Zealand in 1880, and came from Montreal, Canada, where he was born. He learned his profession as surveyor and mining engineer with Messrs Paul and Gould, surveyor and civil engineers. After several years of private practice Mr. Foster entered the Government Survey Department, and carried out some important surveys in the Wellington district.
