Mr. Alfred Harper Curtis

Mr. Alfred Harper Curtis, B.A. (London University), F.G.S., Assoc. M. Inst. C.E., M. Inst. M.M., the representative of the firm in the colony, was born in England in 1863. He was articled for three years to a firm of engineers in the Swansea district, and subsequently pursued eivil engineering studies in Manchester, after which he studied at the Royal School of Mines, London. Mr. Curtis has had a very wide practical experience, having gained his earliest knowledge of mining in the metal mines of Cornwall, Devon, North Wales, the North West Counties of England, and in the Isle of Man. He has been professionally engaged in South Africa. Central America, the United States of America, Algeria, India, Borneo and other parts of the world. Mr. Curtis arrived in New Zealand in May, 1896.
