Mr. Edward Wrigley

Mr. Edward Wrigley, was born in 1869 at Auckland, where he was educated and apprenticed to Messrs McCroskrie and Sons, the well-known engineers. On the completion of his apprenticeship, he went to England in 1890 and joined the firm of Messrs Richardson and Sons, engineers, of Hartlepool, where he remained for one year. Mr. Wrigley went to sea in 1891, as third engineer on the steamer “Lafona,” belonging to Liverpool, and trading to various foreign ports. He passed. He passed his examination in London as second engineer, and came out to Sydney in the “Damascus.” In 1893 he was appointed to the Northern Steamship Company's “Glenelg” as second engineer, and passed his examination as first Class Engineer in Auckland, in 1896. Mr. Wrigley is not now (1901) on the “Glenelg.”
