Mr. Allan Kerr Taylor

Mr. Allan Kerr Taylor, Old Colonist, was the fourth son of General Taylor, H.M. E.I.S. He was born at Seringapatam in 1833, and was educated at the Edinburgh High school. In 1849 he came to New Zealand, whither his two elder brothers had preceded him. He bought land in the Mount Albert district, where he resided until his death. In the early days he was elected a member of the Provincial Council, of which he was a member until its last sitting. Mr. Taylor was for many years chairman of the Mount Albert Highway Board, and afterwards chairman of the road board. He was greatly respected in Mount Albert on Account of his personal integrity. He died in 1890.
