Wilson, Walter

Wilson, Walter, General Smith, Albert Street, Auckland. This business was established in 1893. Mr. Wilson, who is a practical tradesman and thoroughly understands mining, agricultural, and builders' iron-work, has had extensive business relations with the various ironmongers in Auckland, and has done the necessary ironwork for several bridges, the extension of the wharf at Paeroa, additions to Auckland hospital, for the pumping station and engine-room of the Devonport water-works, and for several large buildings in and around Auckland. Mr. Wilson was born in Auckland in 1872, is a son of Mr. A. Wilson, tailor, of Auckland, and has followed his own trade since leaving school. He was for two and a half years in the employment of the Kauri Timber Company, and afterwards with Mr. W. A. Reid for two years. He was for three years with Mr. Dickenson, and then established his present business, Mr. Wilson is a member of the Ancient Order of Druids, and is associated with the New Zealand Natives' Association.
