Mr. T. Bach

Mr. T. Bach is a native of Birmingham, England, and learned his trade in his father's workshops. Father and son came out to New land under engagement to the Government, to put together several steamers to be used on the Waikato. This was during the troublous times of the Maori wars. Mr. Bach then joined Messrs Fraser and Tinne's foundry, in which he rose to the position of foreman. He is a Freemason, and a member of the Auckland Industrial Association. Captain Daldy and Mr. Bach bought the wreck of the “Orpheus” in 1863. Mr. Bach is married, and has a family of two sons, who are working in the foundry.
