Little, Cornelius

Little, Cornelius, Certificated Embalmer and Undertaker, Hobson Street, Auckland. Mr. Little is known throughout the provincial district of Auckland as the leading member of his trade, which has increased steadily ever since he commenced business in Hobson Street, in 1876. He is the only undertaker owning funeral plant in the city of Auckland, and has several hearses, mourning coaches, and sets of horses. Owing to his exertions in connection with the wreck of the “Walrarapa” in recovering and identifying the bodies of the ill-fated passengers, Mr. Little contracted a serious illness, from which he did not recover for some time. page 359 the s.s. “Hinemoa,” Mr. William Brown, who was drowned on the 2nd of June, 1899, whilst conveying stores to the workmen at the East Cape Lighthouse. Mr. Little is referred to elsewhere as an officer on the active reserved list of the New Zealand Volunteers.
