Goldsbro', Charles Field

Goldsbro', Charles Field, M.D., J.P. Dr. Goldsbro' was born in Montgomery, Welshpool, England, and came to Auckland in 1860, in the ship “Rob Roy.” He had a distinguished record as a physician and surgeon, and had been house surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital, and medical officer at Her Majesty's General Post Office, London. Dr. Goldsbro' was coroner of gaols and hospitals in the district of Auckland, senior surgeon of the Auckland militia and volunteers, in connection with which he won the New Zealand war medal; physician to the Orphans' Home, Auckland, and president of the Pension Board; medical referee for the Royal and Australian Insurance Companies; and president of the Auckland Medical Society. He was also senior warden of Lodge Waitemata in 1862–63; master in 1863–64; treasurer, 1864–70; master of the Remuera Lodge, and a member of Lodge Ara, I.C.
