Supreme Court

Supreme Court. This conspicuous pile of law offices possesses the one drawback of being most inconveniently located at considerable distance from the business centre of Auckland, and probably many years will pass before the difficulty will be surmounted. But though far from the chambers of all the legal firms and others, the Supreme Court is in other respects well situated. It occupies the crown of Constitution Hill, in proximity to Government House, St. Andrew's church, two small reserves and the University College, the main entrance being in Waterloo Quadrant. A picket fence, and neatly kept hedges enclose the grounds, whose lawns and trees present an appearance by no means suggestive of criminals and musty law books. The court room is very large, but the library and other adjuncts are inadequately provided with space.
