Mr. George Aldridge, the Preacher in charge of this church, was born in 1854, in Suffolk, England, and educated at a village school. At the age of nine years he was sent to work on a farm, but afterwards entered the employment of a Yorkshire firm, with whom he remained until his call to the ministry in New Zealand. After ministering in a branch church in Waikato for two years, he was appointed to his present charge in 1884.
