Mr Alexander Cochran
Mr Alexander Cochran,
Junior, who represents the Waikumete Riding on the Waitemata County Council, is a son of Mr Alexander Cochran, well known in
the Waikumete district. He was born at Waikumete in 1869, and was educated in his native place, and at Titirangi. On leaving school, he started to learn his business with his father, with whom he still remains. He has been for a number of years vice-president of the Waikumete Fruit Growers' Association, and in 1896 he was elected to the Waitemata County Council. Mr Cochran carries on business
as a fruit grower and nurseryman at Waikumete. He married Miss Jane Ferguson, daughter of Mr John Ferguson, of East Tamaki.
