Mr. William Brown

Mr. William Brown, who, in company, with Messrs Loughlin, O'Brien and James O'Neill, was elected to represent the City of Auckland in the first Parliament, is elsewhere referred to as the second Superintendent of Auckland. He had to return to Scotland, just prior to an election for the Superintendency, for which he was a candidate, and the same incident accounts for his disappearance from the Parliamentary lists.
